Our Approach
We understand that funeral costs can create additional pressure and stress at what is already a difficult time.
We aim to be as flexible as possible, and encourage your involvement
to minimise out-sourcing and reduce unnecessary expense.

we believe you can choose which services you want to access and price accordingly

we can simplify our prices into parts or in entirety if that is helpful

we can pay others on your behalf to reduce stress

support with accessing grants where applicable
eg: via MSD, ACC or Air New Zealand

SERVICES WE OFFER:
INFORMATION, SUPPORT, AND ADVOCACY
Including:
  • discussing all options available to you
  • providing you with information, resources and referrals that may assist
  • being alongside you in meetings or liasing on your behalf where needed
NB: Initial conversations prior to engaging our services incur no fee
Public speaking engagements are also free, although a koha for our
Home Funeral Support
Fund is always appreciated
If you require all these services there is a flat fee of $300, otherwise
one-off consultation meetings are charged at an hourly rate of $90 if no other service is required
PRACTICAL HOME DEATH RESOURCING
Including:
  • liason with relevant medical professionals, funeral directors, council etc
  • assisting with relevant paperwork
  • assisting with body transport
  • assisting with post-death body care & preparation
  • access to a cold plate or techni-ice to keep your loved one at home (or a place of your choosing) while you prepare to farewell them
  • a casket rental option
If you require all these services, there is a flat fee of $1000; body transport; cold plate service; assistance with body care are all $250 per service; other individual aspects are charged at $100 per service
FUNERAL PLANNING AND PREPARATION
Including:
  • advising on available options and effective processes
  • liasing with funeral directors (if relevant), venues, hire services, printers etc
  • practical assistance on the day
  • final disposition arrangements
NB: assistance with body transport between venues and/or to final destination is an additional $150 per trip made
If you require all these services, there is a flat fee of $500. Practical assistance with funeral is $300, otherwise individual aspects are charged at $100 per service
CELEBRANCY
Including:
  • planning, advising and facilitating meaningful services, memorials, and life celebrations alongside family and friends - pre or post death
NB: 10% of all celebrancy fees are retained and available to subsidise costs for families that may need to access support for their own home funeral arrangements

ADDITIONAL COSTS

There are always additional costs involved that are unavoidable, such as medical professional and death certification fees,
plus necessary fees associated with burial or cremation.

However, other services you may wish to access include: purchasing a casket or shroud; venue hire; equipment hire (sound, audio-visual, seating etc); videography/photography; catering; newspaper death notice; flowers; printing; use of mortuary; hearse hire etc

You are free to manage any of these arrangements with individual service providers yourselves and we can also refer you to those we have relationships with. However, dealing with each service independently may feel overwhelming and if it is your preference, we can assist with managing these related dispersements and include the associated costs (itemised) within our final invoice for an additional Administration Fee of $150.

  • Billing & Payment
    Itemised invoicing will occur within one week of the conclusion of our services
    Payment will be required within 10 working days of invoicing
  • Feedback & Disputes
    We welcome your feedback on the service we provide.
    If there is any aspect of our service that you are unhappy with or in dispute about,
    we are committed to resolving any issues via open-minded conversation and negotiation to find resolution and a way forward
